SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 25, 2022) – SWBC is pleased to announce Joan Cleveland, President and CEO of SWBC Life Insurance Company, has been elected Chair of the Texas Association of Life & Health Insurers (TALHI) Board of Directors. TALHI – the state trade association for life and health insurers doing business in Texas – promotes an economic, legislative, and regulatory environment. This, in turn, creates a life and health insurance market aimed at serving Texas residents.

Cleveland has been with SWBC Life Insurance Company nearly 10 years. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Cleveland was named one of “The Top 100 Women in Finance in 2021” by Women We Admire. She is active in multiple industry organizations and has served on the board’s Executive Committee for the Consumer Credit Industry Association (CCIA). Currently, she also serves as a member of the board for the Life Insurers Council (LIC) under the LL Global umbrella. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as well as the Chartered Life Underwriter®, Chartered Financial Consultant®, Registered Employee Benefits Consultant®, and Certified Long-Term Care Professional designations.
