— The Witte Museum leadership is excited to announce Summer at the Witte Museum sponsored by the SWBC Foundation, taking place now through Labor Day Weekend. Over 140,000 have experienced the New Witte since the transformation was completed in March. An anticipated record crowd of over 250,000 is expected by the end of the summer and Summer at the Witte Museum sponsored by the SWBC Foundation ensures a memorable and educational experience for all.
“The Witte Museum is the place where you can experience Nature, Science and Culture all together,” said Marise McDermott, President and CEO of the Witte Museum. “Summer at the Witte Museum sponsored by the SWBC Foundation helps underwrite crucial summer programs that allow our wonderful educational programming to continue, and give the public to explore the New Witte. Partners like the SWBC Foundation allow us to keep our commitment to being a catalyst for broadening minds and learning.”
“The SWBC Foundation is very pleased to partner with the Witte to bring this great experience to San Antonio with Summer at the Witte Museum,” said Lisa Wilson, Director of the SWBC Foundation. “It has been amazing to watch the new Witte go from concept to reality over the past few years. This process was a labor of love for Marise McDermott and her team, and it really shows throughout the museum from the beautiful architecture to the fascinating displays, with no small detail overlooked.”
To celebrate the New Witte transformation, the Witte is planning a full slate of educational programming and activities during the summer. Summer at the Witte Museum, sponsored by the SWBC Foundation, will help underwrite field trips for an expected 8,000 students, allowing them to explore the new galleries, Labs (including the SWBC Live Lab), and newly developed educational programs. The sponsorship will also provide funding for Free Tuesdays. Free Tuesdays at the Witte Museum offers free admission, every Tuesday, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., providing learning opportunities for all.
